Hola,

I’m just gonna write a bit of what’s been/will be happening to me.

I just finished a very successful tour in Germany and Switzerland with Tina Dico. 12 shows in 13 days. Really lovely tour and proper venues and audiences. Mostly sold out shows and a lot of excitement in the air, also regarding future plans. Playing my music to Germany has turned out to be SO ENJOYABLE. I want to do more of that. And I will. In three weeks.

Yesterday I flew from Zurich via Mallorca to Santiago de Compostela. Such a beautiful place. Took a crazy cab ride to a city called Vigo; the taxi driver was blasting Genesis, and drove like a 160 km/h. No Inglés. Porgé?

I met up with my friends of the Bedroom Community; we will be touring together for the next 10 days or so. On a proper nightliner. It’s a great change from the Hotel, drive all day, soundcheck, show, go to sleep, wake up, drive all day… kinda tours I’ve been doing.

Bedroom Community is an Icelandic Label (and a pool of international artists and collaborators), founded by Icelandic producer/musician Valgeir Sigurðsson. Slowly and surely growing community of people, but mainly evolving around Valgeir, Ben Frost, Nico Muhly and Sam Amidon and their diverse projects.

I’m very fortunate to have become a part of this community over the last few years, playing on their records and performing the music on stage.

The show last in Vigo night was fantastic. Great experience. We have a sold out show in Lissabon tonight.

I’m thinking a lot about this new project these days, that I want to start with the help of good new friends in London and YOU GUYS!! I will tell you about this very soon. But as a hint: it has to do with my next album. Are you OBSESSED WITH IT??

Hope everyone is good. Best from Portugal *hh

I just made this little shop page.

You can order the albums ‘For the Rest of my Childhood’ and the ‘Kví, kví – EP’. I want to make the Aska EP (currently out of stock) and my first album ‘Glóandi’  available as well.

I’ve had adamant wishes from fans on ‘Helgi dolls’ and ‘Teenage Heartthrob posters’.. We’re looking into that.

Here’s a link to beautiful music.

Hey you all.

to jump start my mailing list, and to celebrate the release of my album “For the Rest of my Childhood” I’ve decided to give you guys a free download of the single: Digging up a Tree.

Just click on the image on the sidebar here and you will be taken to my friends at MusicGlue, very clever and helpful people I met in London on Thursday. It’s pretty basic from there.

Greetings to everyone from Reykjavik, I came here for only 5 days to play the Iceland Airwaves festival. So much fun. Tomorrow the endless tour goes on. *h

In the weeks before leaving Iceland this August, I recorded a 5 song EP that I chose to call Kví, kví. After a very inspired “creative night” with friends, brainstorming on different artwork ideas, I decided that I had to go to the studio and record some new material to bring with me on the road.

It’s nice to record for this shorter format, and also not under the pressure of a bigger release. I’m happy with the outcome.
The Tracklist is as follows:

Bréfið
Canadian Skies
Móðir mín í kví, kví
Kvika Silfur
I am God

The covers, a collaboration with the US artist Milan Delvecchio, are all handmade and fancy, numbered and a limited edition of 1000. At first I only thought of this as something to sell at shows, but now, after getting a couple of emails about it, I’m wondering if people would be interested in ordering the album on the net. Please comment on this if you have an opinion. Best from Copenhagen. *h

On October 9th, my latest album “For the Rest of my Childhood” will be released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It’s really the perfect timing as I will be touring G/A/S extensively in October and November.
The first single from the album is “Digging up a Tree”.

I’m very excited as the first reviews are coming out; just got a message this morning congratulating on the Rolling Stone review. I can’t wait to get a hold of an issue.

Stay tuned for more info on this release and the promo we’re doing around it. Might be some nice video performances and interviews for you to check out. Best. *h

Hi to you all.

I’ve been doing some thinking lately. About my internet appearance; which admittedly has been in the “Kindergarten” mode for a long time. I was talking to a good friend from the music industry the other day and telling her about my problems with keeping up a decent homepage. She basically told me I didn’t really need the “classic website”, but I should take a look into that “WordPress” thing. I think she’s right. I mean, let’s face it, if people want to look at some “teenage heartthrob” photography of me, they don’t need me to provide them with that. People can just find them on flickr or somewhere else.

So that’s what I’m doing here and now. I’ve started this blog and I will try and update it with relevant news about me and my music; or just anything I can come up with. You, my fans/readers/friends/foes/whatever should be able to add some content as well; don’t quite know yet how that’s going to work, but I guess basic commenting etc. is pretty standard.

You can follow me on Twitter , Facebook, and MySpace.

Hopefully I can find a way to build this blog-site into something interesting and useful, with some nice features.

My best greetings from Hollywood, playing the Roxy on Sunset Blvd. tonight.

Helgi
