Once again nature is making life a little bit more difficult for us. I was supposed to leave Iceland today, for a string of shows with Tina and myself starting tomorrow in Aarhus.

I’m hoping to at least make my performance at the SPOT festival on the 27th of May.

About a year ago I wrote a little ringtone for the peoples fancyphones. After getting numerous requests of turning my songs into ringtones, in idea that I find rather strange, I decided it was much better to write these micro musics.

Last summer I was walking downtown Copenhagen and heard someones phone ringing, the sound so familiar. That was a funny feeling. A total stranger using my little Helgitone. That’s when I decided I had to write another one.

And that’s what I did last night.

The tickets to the show at Copenhagen Jazzhouse have sold out, after only a few days on sale. We have therefore decided to add an extra show on the day before, January 25th. These shows will be with full band. Go here for tickets.

I want to tell you about this wonderful Swedish duo Wildbirds and Peacedrums. Earlier this year they recorded their last album, Rivers, in Reykjavík. My friend Ben Frost was recording and the Icelandic musician/composer Hildur Guðnadóttir wrote the choir arrangements. I had the luck to be asked to sing with the choir Scholae Cantorum on some of these songs.

They have some great material out there. Please check them out.

HI, here’s a bit of what’s going on in my life.

I’m currently in Iceland, in between tours, constantly working on new and exciting music. I’m working on two releases at the moment. One will be ready soon, I want to be able to have it with me at the shows I’m playing this fall. I want to think of this as an EP; although at the moment I’m counting up to eight new tracks. But still, this will not be a big release. More like something exclusive for the concert-goers. Should I make it available on iTunes? Please comment.

Parallel to this I’m working on a ‘bigger’ album.. whatever that means? Hopefully to be released early next year. Seems like a long time from now; however, that is not at all the case. I’m afraid the time will go by so fast. Too fast.

Touring will start soon. Over 50 shows before Christmas. I’m looking forward to the whole thing. Can’t wait to be back on stage every night. I will be joining Tina Dico on her tours in Europe, performing a set of my own as well as in her band.

Next week I’m going to New York to play some solo shows. Some of them are in the Cafeterias of schools like the Juilliard School; a part of “Iceland Airwaves Festival – On Tour”. They’ll even have an Icelandic Chef preparing delicious Ice-specialities. On September 9th I’m playing a show at the Rockwood Music Hall, at 10.45 PM. Tell all your friends in NYC.

The summer has been eventful. Some lovely festivals here and there. Good experiences in Iceland, finally a bit of vacation as well. Even went fishing. Hope I’ll see you all at upcoming shows, or somewhere else down the road. My best, *H
