Together with the german writer and director Falk Richter I take the stage this December in these reading/concert events:
03.12.2015 Schauspiel Frankfurt
05.12.2015 Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin
06.12.2015 Schauspielhaus Vienna
Falk is presenting a collection of his latest works, some of which I have had the joy of writing music to, over the last few years. I will perform music and songs from these works and more.
My dear Friends! Long time no see
For the past 7 weeks I’ve been working in Berlin, on an opera-meets-theatre-meets-Helgi-Jonsson-piece by Falk Richter with Berliner Staatsoper and Schaubuehne. Here’s the press release:
Together with the Staatsoper, we’re presenting an exceptional performance: In his new project, Falk Richter combines his own texts with compositions of new music – seven composers, including the Icelandic singer/songwriter Helgi Jónsson, are involved in the production. Actors meet singers, musicians and dancers. The characters are forever seeking, restless, reeling from one occasion to the next, negotiating the longing for closeness, the burden of infinite possibilities, the constant pressure of self-optimization – and the opera Eugene Onegin.
Premiere on 14 June
8 performances: 17, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25, 29 and 30 June, 8pm.
It’s an amazing experience and a powerful show and I urge you all to come to Berlin and see it!

French film maker, Vincent Moon, visited me in my studio in Seltjarnarnes just as I was starting to write my upcoming album, “Big Spring”. What you see here is an improvisation which over the next months turned into the album’s closing track “The Lake”. We filmed at the light house on the island Grótta in my old hometown.
You can see the short music film, here presented by the italian Wired Magazine.
